Bad joke alert. . . .
How do you fix a broken tomato?
Tomato paste.
On a slightly more serious note. . . .As I look back over my blogging from February, Fridays have been given over to blogging on Gourmet Food Storage. This month, we’ve been discussing all the amazing things we can do with tomato powder.
We’ve discussed making ketchup, barbecue sauce, and pizza sauce.
But there’s so much more that we can do with tomato powder.
Our family uses a lot of tomato sauce and tomato paste. While we don’t personally use it this way, you can also use it to make tomato juice.
Tomato Sauce
3 C water
3/4 C tomato powder
2 tsp parsley
2 tsp oregano
2 tsp basil
2 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp stevia
Mix the ingredients together and use as you would tomato sauce in recipes like chili or spaghetti.
Tomato Paste
1/2 C tomato powder
1 C water
Mix together.
Tomato Juice
3 C water
1/2 C tomato powder
We’ve gone through so many different items that can be made with tomato powder this month.
Which has been your favorite?
Which has surprised you the most?
