Gourmet Food Storage – The Proof Is in the Pudding!

Have you ever had real pudding?  I’m not talking about that instant boxed stuff from the store.  I’m talking about the kind of pudding that you have to cook on the stove?  OOoooooooo.  I could just sigh with joy at the thought of it.

Okay, you may laugh, but have you’ve ever had some pudding that is warm?  Ya know, the kind that has just set a few minutes after you finished cooking it on the stove.  It’s so hard to resist digging in while it’s hot, but, oh no.  You know better.  You know that once that slight ‘skin’ forms on the top, it has cooled just enough to be AH-MAZ-ING! Once you break the skin with your spoon and gather some of that lusciousness, you blow on the mixture slightly just to cool it a smidgen more.  Then you wrap your lips around the almost hot spoon.  It tastes so incredible that your eyes want to roll back into your head in pleasure.  Yea…….THAT kind of pudding.

“Is a pudding that amazing REALLY possible?” you ask.  Oh, my.  It is, and today, you’re going to learn how to make it!

Homemade Pudding

The easiest, most amazing pudding you will ever make starts with Magic Mix.  Don’t know what Magic Mix is?  Check out my prior blog post on it here.

The recipe is as simple as:

1 C magic mix

1/2 C sugar

2 C water

1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

1.) Add the Magic Mix and the sugar in a medium saucepan.

2.)  Turn on the heat and slowly mix in the water and vanilla.

Almost Vanilla Pudding

3.)  Using a whisk, stir at regular intervals until it comes to a slight simmer, begins to look shiny, and begins to thicken.

THAT kind of vanilla pudding

4.)  Pour into a bowl and refrigerate if you can wait that long.  Yea, we couldn’t wait that long.

It’s really as simple as that, but the results are (almost) to die for!  If you make nothing else with Magic Mix, please try this one!  I’d love to hear how it turned out in the comments!
