2019 Goals, Plans, Posts, Projects

I spent some time this last week looking over this past year and it’s accomplishments.  I also spent some time thinking about next year.  What do I want to accomplish?  Are there specific kinds of posts do I want to write for you?  What projects do I want to tackle and to accomplish to serve you all?  How do I personally want to grow?  How do I want to grow in my faith?  What are my preparedness goals for the year?  There are next steps as we “Homestead in the Burbs.”  Which ones should we tackle this next year?

I want to share my goals with you for several reasons.  (1) I want to be held accountable.  (2) I want you to have some idea of what is coming this next year.  (3) Because writing these goals, plans, and projects down makes it real.

2019 Posts, Plans, Projects, and Goals

Some of the topics that I plan to blog about are:

  • We’re going to continue with preparedness kits
  • Nuclear Preparedness
  • Prepping for specific kinds of disasters
  • Reaching out to our neighbors now.
  • Bug out Bags
  • Each month we’re going to have a prepping skill to learn and if possible perfect
  • Natural health solutions to some typical health problems

 Projects I hope to tackle

Writing a book  – I’m going to tackle a recipe book of sorts, but it’s not your typical recipe book.  If things go wrong, once you run out of the basics, how are you going to handle things like toothpaste, deodorant, lotion?  What about the basics in cooking, things that we take for granted like baking powder, or condiments.  Then I’ll give you a treasure-trove of recipes that don’t require refrigeration.

Subscription Service – Do you long for more personal teaching from me?  Would you like to pick my brain about something on your mind?  Do you want specific handouts that are exclusive to a small group of people?  Then stay tuned.  I’m going to be doing a monthly subscription service. I’ll teach on a specific subject that I’ll announce at the beginning of any given month.  After that, I’ll open it up for a Q&A.  Your questions can be on the month’s topic, but it could be on any preparedness topic.  My goal date is for the month of April if all goes according to plan.

2019 Posts, Plans, Projects, and Goals

Preparedness Goals for 2019

  • Plant 2 more fruit trees
  • Plant 3-5 more berry bushes
  • Develop a water catchment system
  • Set up 4-6 4’x8′ raised garden beds
  • Planning and planting a “guerrilla garden”
  • Canning much of our own produce

Personal Goals for 2019

  • Losing 30 pounds (I have a LOT more to lose, but that’s a start)
  • Read 12 books this year – 3 prepper books, 3 personal development books, 3 business development books, 3 books on the Bible/Bible topics
  • Complete 4 Bible studies
  • Memorize 12 verses – again not much, but it’s something
  • Take a 2 mile hike with my BOB
  • Run drills monthly – fire, tornado, bug out
  • Restock my short-term food storage and keep it stocked

What do I hope that you’ll take away from all this?  I hope you get excited about some of the things that we’re going to tackle this year!  My desire is that you’ll spread the word about what’s going on here.  I also hope that you’ll get some ideas for things that you want to take on as your own goals in 2019.

So What About You?

What are some of your goals for 2019?  I’d love to hear what things you are striving to accomplish?  Share some with us to give us ideas of things that others could set as a goal too.

I like a year without groceries, it just makes sense to have an emergency plan. my grandmother and mother taught me how to can that is something I truly cherish. there is nothing like opening a quart jar of peaches on a winter day, it’s like stealing the cold from winter. I am looking forward to your new posts, happy new year.

  2. I always look forward to your posts. We were raised with the mindset of being prepared because it wasn’t unusual to have to evacuate for a potential tsunami or hunker down for a hurricane. This past year we had to evacuate because of a volcanic eruption. So with that in mind – oh, and the false incoming missle threat (we live on the Big Island of Hawaii, will continue with our off grid plans. I want to get everything (plans) in my binders and keep them up to date. I want to learn how to can this year, too. Personally, I want to develop more physical stamina so I can resume being active, and plan to make more art. Aloha,

    • Always being in danger from hurricanes and tsunamis and what happened last year, I can’t imagine! I am glad that you enjoy the posts.
